I am currently in the process of booking a holiday for my boyfriends 21st, and now I am in sheer panic about my summer wardrobe! As all who live in England know, our summers cannot officially be classified as such, what with actual summertime being hot and all, so I am lacking in fresh and light items that would carry me through steaming hot days and warm nights.

TRAVELLING OUTFIT

Top – TopShop
Shorts – TopShop
Cardigan – Monsoon (totally love that colour!)
Shoes – my-wardrobe.com
Tights – Falke
Headband – Vera Wang
Suitcase – Vintage

This would be my ideal outfit for travelling, the layering is very important because of the drastic climate change from getting on and off the plane, so the cardigan and the tights can be worn on the way, a quick change out of the tights at the end of the flight, pop the cardigan in your bag and voila it transforms into a summer ensemble.
(The fancy headband is to detract attention away from the fact that at 5 in the morning your hair probably looks like a bird’s nest!!)

EXPLORING THE TOWN

Day:
Playsuit – zendie.com
Moccasins – Walmart
Tote – Angel Jackson
Night:
Purse – Judith Leiber
Belt – West Seal
Shoes – Christian Louboutin

One thing I never manage to grasp is the concept of packing light! A playsuit is a perfect item for any occasion and it is easily updated from day to night. For the day you want some flat comfortable shoes to wander around the town in, you don’t want to be the one wining about your feet hurting! A tote is an ideal bag to carry with you when you are out and about in town because you can fit an abundance of things in it, and also if you buy anything you can put all of it in there too, instead of carrying around loads of shopping bags. To convert the outfit to a night time look, I chose to change the belt to a really wide one for a more structured look, a very sparkly bag for a touch of glamour, and killer heels from Louboutin.

SIGHTSEEING

Top – TopShop
Skirt – Moschino Cheap 7 Chic
Shoes – Yves Saint Lauren
Bag – Chloe
Earrings – langantiques.com

Being on holiday is a time when you should feel free to play with bright colours and different fabrics, I think this Moschino Cheap & Chic skirt would be perfect for that, and would sparkle brilliantly in the sunshine as you are taking snaps of historical sights. Although, I do admit the shoes would be a tad high for walking around in all day!

OUT TO DINNER

Dress – net-a-porter.com
Shoes – Jonathan Kelsey
Bag – Moschino

For the evening, lace would be a lovely light fabric to wear, especially if you wore this particular dress – I think it’s beautiful. Unfortunately, I am compiling these collages on Polyvore.com and it doesn’t say which designer it’s by, it just says that it’s from net-a-porter.com and when you click the link it just comes up with a large image of the dress! Does anybody know who it is by?

DAY OUT

Dress – Miss Selfridge
Shoes – Christian Louboutin
Bag – Chanel

This would be a nice and fresh dress to wear during the day, I really want to buy it but I looked on Miss Selfridge’s website and it is £70!!!! Why on earth is it so expensive?? I paired it with simple white accessories to keep it neat and unfussy; I think it makes for quite a chic little outfit!

  4. Oh my GOD! These are amazing!!! I love that Moschino skirt. How do you make these collages? They're fab! Also, where are you studying? I've applied to do a Masters at LCF starting in October. Is that where you are?

  5. Cool! Thanks for the tip! I'll start using that site I think. That's really cool about your course. Mine is just fashion journalism, its not design. Good luck with yours! x

  10. Oh darling I'm travelling later in the year and these outfits are just divine! I was going to save the shopping for when I got there but now I fear I'll have to do some before I leave!
