For all those who have not yet seen Augusts issue of Vogue, here are some Autumn/Winter 2008 Trends:

Tomato Red.

1) “Replace your trad white shirt with a ruffled red blouse”
2) “Off the catwalk, one standout scarlet accessory is statement enough”
3) “Autumn’s new hot power pairing: tomato red and glossy jet black”

Decorative and Sculptural Statement Coats.

1) “Origami fabric folds, abstract knit patterns and filigree lace detailing reveal a flair for the artistic”
2) “Structured necklines and curvilinear silhouettes have a graphic elegance”
3) “Lush colours and luxe fabrics (cashmere, fur, satin) up the glamour quotient”

Black Lace and Soft Goth.

1) “Hold off on accessories. Lacy looks are decorative enough”
2) “Layer up lace pieces for double the impact”
3) This is gothic with glamour: off-the-shoulder ruffles and chiffon layers have a dark. Romantic appeal”

Super Structure: Corners and Curves.

1) “Angular cuts revolve around spiky shoulders and sleeves; keep lowers halves simple”
2) “This isn’t just about padding and quilting; the soft curves of a structured frill boast the requisite sculptural quality”
3) “Metallic shimmer and shine emphasise the new exaggerated cuts”

Heritage: Military, Country & Tartan.

1) “Think dress uniform: braiding, brass buttons, epaulettes and insignia are the decorative touches”
2) “Prim and polished are the key words; scarf, belt, gloves and handbag at all times, please!”
3) “The new way to wear tartan? Mix and match multiple checks”

Peek-a-boo Sheer and Keyhole.

1) “To wear sheer in the real world you must master the art of “reveal-and-conceal” lightweight layering”
2) “Black may be the classic sheer shade, but forest green and chic navy make good alternatives”
3) “A keyhole cut-out is the easiest way to play the peek-a-boo dressing game”

Couture Appeal.

1) “More is more: sweeping bows, huge paillettes and lavish embroidery show designers at their most extravagant”
2) “A delicate palette of nudes, creams and golds lends elaborate embellishments an air of subtlety”
